At the Olympic Games in Tokyo, Nicola Spirig was able to add two more Olympic diplomas to her already impressive Olympic resume. In the individual race, the 2012 Olympic champion battled through tough conditions to come in in sixth place, just as she had done in Beijing in 2008. Five days later, Spirig and the Swiss relay team finished seventh.

Spirig’s impressive Olympic run that began with the games in Athens in 2004, now spans across 17 years and features a total of three Olympic diplomas, while being highlighted by a gold medal in London 2012, followed by a silver medal in Rio 2016.
